Application Marketplace

An application marketplace is an online store where customers can go to find and purchase applications.

Depending on the type of marketplace and products sold, customers can download applications onto their computers, phones, or other devices (for example, in-car infotainment systems), or use the store as a central location to use and manage cloud-based products and services.

A wide variety of digital products can be sold through application marketplaces. These include business-to-business (B2B) software, such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace; solution add-ons, including products developed for Salesforce.com and sold in its AppExchange; consumer apps such as games for iOS and Android devices; and more.
