Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS)

Unified communications as a service (UCaaS) is a cloud delivery mechanism geared toward making communication easier across teams, most often in enterprises. This cloud-based system can support several types of communication, including telephony, instant messaging, email, videoconferencing, and more.

Since UCaaS is owned and maintained by the provider, the customer does not need to implement or manage its own infrastructure system for workplace communication. Instead, the provider charges the client a recurring fee, and there is typically more than one tenant sharing communications infrastructure. The customer can use the infrastructure tools through an internet-based portal, making UCaaS accessible for dispersed teams.
