Meet AppDirect’s New Director of Provider Management

AppDirect has taken a significant step in supporting technology providers and independent software vendors (ISVs) with its announcement of Mariane Louvet in the new role of Director of Provider Management. Louvet will lead the charge on the strategy, expansion, and success of the AppDirect provider ecosystem.

Renée Bergeron, AppDirect’s Chief Operating Officer, noted, “Our new leadership hire underscores our commitment to empowering providers to thrive across multiple channels and marketplaces. By connecting the largest network of providers and advisors, we create seamless, scalable routes to market that deliver value for everyone involved.”

As the provider ecosystem expands through Louvet’s efforts, technology advisors and buyers will also benefit through access to a broader portfolio of innovative solutions, delivered through a seamless, fully integrated marketplace platform..

This article explores what this new leadership role means for technology vendors and the broader ecosystem, highlighting how AppDirect’s platform and network create growth opportunities for all participants.

    TL;DR

AppDirect has created a new role — Director of Provider Management — and appointed Mariane Louvet to drive growth and innovation for technology providers across the AppDirect ecosystem.

    • Louvet will expand routes to market for providers, grow the AppDirect catalog across all product categories, and advance the vision of building the B2B everything store for technology.

    • With 70% of B2B buyers now purchasing through indirect channels, marketplaces are a critical growth engine, and AppDirect's "syndicate once, distribute everywhere" model gives providers access to 14,000+ advisors and resellers through a single integration.

    • Louvet brings over a decade of provider ecosystem experience from Pax8, 1Password, and other industry leaders, equipping her to unify fragmented sales channels and scale provider success.

Building the everything store for business

Louvet’s role at AppDirect extends far beyond managing day-to-day operations. She will spearhead initiatives that strengthen provider engagement to expand AppDirect’s provider portfolio across all segments and unlock new revenue streams for providers and advisors alike.

“AppDirect is building the B2B everything store for technology, where advisors can solve their customers’ business challenges through access to the world’s leading solutions,” said Renee Bergeron, COO at AppDirect. “Through a single integration into our ecosystem, independent software vendors and technology providers gain multiple routes to market, including one of the largest global networks of marketplaces on the AppDirect platform and hyperscaler marketplaces enabled by our Tackle acquisition. Adding Louvet to the team is part of our strategy to continue growing that ecosystem across North America, ensuring providers view AppDirect as the network they need to grow and scale”

The next phase of the provider ecosystem

Louvet is well positioned for this mission, bringing over a decade of experience in IT provider and vendor management, including leadership roles at Pax8, 1Password, Symantec, and Forcepoint. Her deep background in cloud, cybersecurity, MSP, MSSP, and telco ecosystems uniquely positions her to guide AppDirect’s next phase of provider ecosystem development.

At Pax8, Louvet scaled Canadian operations from infancy to a formidable presence in the cloud distribution space. Most recently, she led the Global MSP Distribution and Marketplace program at 1Password, driving growth and innovation.

Her proven track record in negotiating complex enterprise agreements, driving operational efficiencies, and leading distributed teams will help AppDirect maintain a best-in-class vendor ecosystem.

“My roles included close collaboration with leadership across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Finance, both internally and with partners and vendors,” said Louvet. “Building the provider catalog is critical to AppDirect’s strategy, and I look forward to contributing to building the everything-store where partners can come to solve their customer’s business problems through all the leading technology solutions.”

When asked why she chose to join AppDirect, Louvet explained, "I’ve worked with the team before and have deep respect for Renee Bergeron and the leadership team building this next phase of growth. With its global reach, marketplace vision, and additions like Tackle.io, AppDirect is carving a strong, unique path that blends marketplaces, providers, and digital commerce.” She added, “The company sits at the center of cloud, cybersecurity, and MSP/MSSP ecosystems—areas I’ve spent most of my career in and where I feel I can make an impact."

The right time to expand the provider management program

A shifting landscape requires a new approach

Technology providers today are dealing with rising costs, tougher competition, and more complex operations. In a crowded tech landscape, managing multiple sales channels, juggling reseller relationships, and handling complicated billing and fulfillment processes all add to the complexity. Meanwhile, standing out to buyers is getting tougher, with digital ads and demand generation becoming more expensive, while traditional marketing loses its effectiveness.

This challenging environment is further intensified by a dramatic shift in how applications are being developed and purchased. In-house teams are now producing an astounding 5× more applications than traditional IT environments ever could. This explosion of new solutions means the market is more saturated than ever, driving up the cost of demand generation for individual providers.

So, how are buyers navigating this crowded landscape? Increasingly, they're turning to indirect channels. Research from Forrester reveals that  70% of global B2B purchasing influencers bought their offering through an indirect route—an ecosystem partner, not the supplier directly. This fundamental shift underscores why expanding reach and meeting buyers where they are, through robust partner ecosystems and marketplaces, is no longer optional but critical for growth.

Marketplaces have become a significant growth engine:

However, it's not enough just to be present in these channels. Today's B2B buyers expect seamless purchasing experiences, and the current landscape often falls short. To compete, providers need to embrace multi-channel distribution and reach buyers wherever they prefer to procure their technology—but without the right tools and partnerships, this can create friction and missed opportunities. AppDirect market research highlights several key pain points for SMBs:

    • 51% identify managing multiple vendors as a primary challenge.

    • 39% cite centralizing payments as a major barrier.

    • 30% struggle with fragmented billing cycles, which leads to reconciliation errors and unpredictable cash flow.

Managing these complex routes to market and simultaneously meeting evolving customer expectations requires dedicated expertise. In this landscape of challenges and opportunity, Louvet's extensive experience scaling provider programs at Pax8 and 1Password equips her to unify fragmented sales channels.

"I'm energized by the opportunity to build scalable, data-driven programs that empower providers to innovate and grow," Louvet said. "At AppDirect, we're creating a partner ecosystem that is future-ready—one that connects the right technology solutions to the right buyers, wherever and however they choose to engage."

    Amplifying the partner ecosystem

Louvet is excited about attracting new providers to expand the AppDirect catalog. "Building the provider catalog is critical to AppDirect’s strategy, and I look forward to contributing to building the everything store where partners can come to solve their customer’s business problems through all the leading technology solutions."

    Syndicate once, distribute everywhere

At the core of AppDirect’s platform is the “syndicate once, distribute everywhere” approach. This model allows providers to list their products a single time and instantly make them available across a vast ecosystem—opening access to a significantly larger customer base without duplicative effort.

    Flexible routes to market

Providers have flexibility in how they reach their target customers, whether through curated reseller networks, direct sales teams, or digital marketplaces where buyers increasingly prefer self-service discovery and purchase. By listing products on the AppDirect catalog, providers gain entry to a network of over 14,000 technology advisors and resellers. They can also extend distribution by syndicating products across AppDirect-powered marketplaces and hyperscalers such as Microsoft, Google, and AWS.

Unlocking new marketing opportunities through automation

What truly differentiates AppDirect is its ability to unlock previously untapped routes to market through seamless automation. The procurement marketplace hosts over a thousand providers, including industry leaders like Microsoft, Google, and Zoom, delivering a frictionless click-to-buy experience with consolidated billing. Today, 16 million subscribers rely on the AppDirect ecosystem of subscription marketplaces to power their innovation, growth and success.

    Dedicated operational support

Supporting this ecosystem is AppDirect’s dedicated team of over 200 fulfillment professionals, who provide unmatched operational support and act as brand ambassadors—further accelerating provider growth across multiple channels.
