AppDirect Selected as a Top Company to Watch for Cloud Service Marketplace and Management Technology

San Francisco, Calif., January 30, 2014 – AppDirect, the leading cloud service marketplace and management company, announced today that it has been named one of Forbes Most Promising Companies for 2014. The Forbes list recognizes 100 high-growth firms that feature strong management teams, investors, and recruiting, as well as sizable margins, market size, and key partnerships.

“We are honored to be recognized by Forbes as one of the country’s most promising companies. The list has served as a stepping stone for many of today’s industry-leading technology firms, and we’re excited to be among such impressive company,” said Daniel Saks, co-CEO of AppDirect. “This recognition is not only a testament to our team’s hard work in building the most innovative cloud marketplace and management platform in the world, but also confirms the exploding demand for cloud services across businesses of all sizes.”

The Most Promising Companies recognition bolsters AppDirect’s ongoing rapid expansion into global markets and new industries. Today, the company powers marketplaces for leading global brands—such as Staples, Deutsche Telekom, Cloud Foundry, Rackspace, Swisscom, and more—giving AppDirect reach to more than 12 million users in 80-plus countries. In the past year, AppDirect secured $13 million in Series B funding and acquired Standing Cloud, a leading provider of virtual private cloud solutions. In addition, jBilling, the global leader in open source billing solutions acquired by AppDirect in 2012, continues its impressive growth and now processes more than 10 million monthly invoices for companies that include Constant Contact and VeriFone.

To determine the third-annual Most Promising Companies list, Forbes editors reviewed hundreds of applications from businesses across the United States. In addition to key company metrics, including sales and hiring growth, Forbes selected companies based on other holistic factors, such as quality of investors. As Forbes editor J.J. Colao explained: “Producing a ranking in the opaque world of privately-held companies is never easy. But we’re confident that many of these are the IPOs and billion-dollar acquisitions of tomorrow.”
