Industry Leader Unveils Revamped Platform, New Partnership with Vodafone

SAN FRANCISCO--September 27, 2016-- Today at AppDirect ENGAGE, AppDirect’s annual summit and the industry’s only event dedicated to cloud service commerce, the company announced the launch of a new solution stack that is the first purpose-built for cloud service commerce. Now at the core of the AppDirect platform, the Cloud Monetization Suite and Cloud Management Suite unify the technology needed to monetize and manage cloud services and serve to unite every stakeholder—providers, developers, and consumers—in the cloud service commerce ecosystem. AppDirect’s unified platform represents a game-changing upgrade to the company’s technology and is the only complete offering of its kind available on the market today.

Vodafone, one of the world’s largest telecommunications service providers, is the newest AppDirect partner to leverage the revamped platform to power cloud service sales and distribution to Vodafone’s business customers in Italy. Working with AppDirect, Vodafone now offers popular cloud services, including Microsoft Office 365 and Google Apps for Work. In addition to these leading apps, Vodafone offers its own Smart Solutions, a set of applications designed for Vodafone customers in industries such as hospitality, professional services, manufacturing and construction.

"Our customers look to us to provide them with the services and technology they need to run their businesses,” said Jeni Mundy, Group Enterprise Product Management Director at Vodafone. “With AppDirect’s unified platform, we’re able to provide a better and richer experience to our customers. We can offer in one single place a wide range of cloud services like Vodafone Mobile Device Manager, Microsoft Office 365, Google and other cloud applications to our business customers and provide them with the tools they need to get the most out of those services.”

AppDirect’s new stack brings together solutions that AppDirect has developed in house with all of the technology assets that it has acquired from its family of companies. Since 2009, AppDirect has made six acquisitions from across the cloud industry, including Xendo, Radialpoint, AppCarousel, Leftronic, Standing Cloud and jBilling. These technologies offer solutions for complex billing, cross-application search, single sign-on, technical support, analytics, application packaging and orchestration, as well as other critical components.

“Business transformation is the ultimate goal of every company that embarks on the cloud journey, and today AppDirect is making it easier than ever before to overcome obstacles on that often difficult road,” said Daniel Saks, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of AppDirect. “With our full solution stack for cloud service commerce, every player in the global software ecosystem will benefit from a better cloud experience that can be seamlessly managed and more easily monetized.”

The revamped AppDirect platform also offers capabilities in key growth areas, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) as well as mobile, including a new product called MyApps Mobile. An easy to customize white-label solution, MyApps Mobile is a version of the portal that business consumers access when they buy and use cloud applications from AppDirect-powered providers. These providers can brand the app and make it available for download in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. When users authenticate their accounts, they gain access to all of their cloud services on their mobile devices. The application also supports both native and web applications.

Today’s announcement was made at AppDirect ENGAGE, AppDirect’s annual summit and the industry’s only event dedicated to cloud service commerce. The event featured speakers from Microsoft, Google, Dropbox, and many others, as well as industry leaders including Mike Dorosh, Research Director at Gartner Inc., and Maxwell Wessell, Vice President of Sapphire Ventures and member of the World Economic Council.
