MOVEmber MOuntain Challenge at AppHelp

By R. J. Stangle / Nov 03, 2015

Staches are fun but muscles are better.

This MOVEmber “MOVE” is the new way to fundraise for men’s health. Starting November 9th, AppHelpers will be raising dollars while building Super Strength through a company-wide MOVEmber MOuntain Challenge.

The goal: to collectively climb Mount Everest. Well, not the real Everest but the equivalent number of floors in our office building.

Teams will be assembling this week and take on 6636 flights of stairs over the next four weeks. AppHelp will graciously donate $0.40 per floor climbed – up to $2500.

The Math
There are three flights of stairs leading up to our office, which means in order to complete the climb in four weeks (20 working days) we need to complete a total of 110 climbs a day. We’re hoping to have around 35 participants, which means that each individual needs to climb three flights per day.

It’s an ambitious but achievable goal which works to raise funds but also awareness of men’s health initiatives – both mental and physical.

8 Moustache Stroking Facts about Climbing Stairs

This competition will encourage AppHelpers to be active each day, fostering intra-team relationships as well as some friendly cross-team competition.

We are excited about shifting the Mo growing challenge to one that anyone can participate in without the pressure of sporting a coat on their upper lip (though we welcome and love them too!)
