How 5G will benefit cloud and other technologies this year

Low Latency
5G will provide the low latency required for autonomous systems. 4G networks have an average latency of around 60ms. That should drop to less than 5ms with 5G technology. To give that some context, it takes at least 10ms for an image seen by the human eye to be processed by the brain. Every industry and operation can benefit from this low latency, especially cloud services.
More Bandwidth
Average 5G installations should at least quadruple available mobile bandwidth over 4G, and in many cases even much more. This will revolutionize how and what type of data can be backed up or accessed. Devices that couldn't previously store information can now manage their own data to and from the cloud. 5G will enable new ways to getting data to and from the cloud.
Peer 2 Peer communications
5G may revolutionize P2P and eliminate the need for servers altogether in some cases. You’ll be able to easily transfer data between devices in a matter of seconds. Serverless installations can reduce the time, complexity, and overall cost to deploy and run a project.
Evolution of IoT
Gartner predicts that by 2023, there will be 49 million 5G IoT endpoints installed. IoT thrives on the low latency connections that 5G is providing. WIth more and more consumer and industrial devices reporting to the cloud, 5G will continue to move this industry forward
