AppDirect Gets Hairy for a Good Cause

Movember

You may have noticed a recent uptick in the number of moustached gentlemen on your local streets. No, the facial-hair fashions of Geraldo Rivera, Tom Selleck, and Ron Burgundy aren’t suddenly back in style (as fun as that might be). Rather, men across the country are cultivating nose neighbors to raise awareness about men’s health issues. Just how can growing a moustache do that? Enter the Movember Foundation.

Each November, the Movember Foundation encourages men across the country and around the world to sprout moustaches as a simple way to raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancer, as well as other issues that affect men’s health. Men can also sign up to seek donations for their ‘stache-growing efforts, generating funds for research and other needs. You can visit the Movember website to learn more about this great cause.

The men of AppDirect have stepped up in support of this important issue. So far, our team—aptly named the AppDirect Mustachios—has grown to 18 members from the AppDirect family, and we’ve beat our goal of raising $2,000 before the end of the month. In fact, our grand total was more than $4,500! Visit our team page to learn more about the men who made it possible: http://us.movember.com/team/839721.

Finally, it’s not just the boys who are having all of the Movember fun. This week, some of the women of AppDirect are sporting fake mustaches, too. Their male counterparts have offered up a handsome sum to any female AppDirect team member who wears her ‘stache during business hours for the final week—that includes lunches, client meetings, and trips for coffee! All donations will also go to the AppDirect Mustachios team. Happy ‘stache-ing!
